GIS PlanningThe GIS Committee is responsible for developing the Geographic Information System in Logan County. In 2007, the committee contracted with Tri-County Regional Planning to develop a strategic plan. The GIS Implementation Plan was approved in March, 2008. Copies of this plan are available by contacting the GIS Committee. Soon after the Implementation Plan was adopted, Logan County's GIS began to develop a structure to handle the increasing workload and complexity of maintaining a GIS. Discussions were held with the Logan County Regional Planning Commission (LCRPC). A structure has been developed to provide a GIS coordinator who would be employed by the LCRPC. This structure is a draft. It has not been implemented at this time. Discussions are still being held to create the best structure within Logan County to staff the Geographic Information System.
The GIS Committee would continue to develop the framework data layers. The LCRPC would provide the personnel support for the various GIS users in the county.
The GIS Committee would work closely with Logan County Regional Planning to develop and maintain geographic information in Logan County. |
